A place for the water a dehumidifier collects: room to empty a tank, or a drain a hose can reach. Five listings name a tank, a hose or drainage.
What happens without it
The listings do not say. The site gives no instructions for draining, emptying or connecting a hose; that belongs to each manufacturer’s manual.
What the listings name
The Midea Cube names both a large water tank
and a drain hose
. The other Midea names continuous drainage
, the AEOCKY names a hose of its own, and the BEDRED and the TABYIK name their tanks in ounces.
The ones that name nothing
Three dehumidifier listings name no tank, hose or drainage: the Frigidaire, the ToLife and the Eva-Dry. The Eva-Dry states a renewable filling
instead, and the site does not explain what that means for the water.
Pints and ounces are not the same measurement
ENERGY STAR describes a dehumidifier’s capacity as the water removed per day, reported in pints/day, and the federal test method in 10 CFR Part 430, Subpart B, Appendix X1 records capacity in pints per day. An ounce figure on these listings is the size of a tank. Four listings print pints and two print ounces, and the site keeps them in separate groups and never in one column.
